A lot has happened in the past week in ISM. To start, we had the ISM showcase for Frisco High School in which I was able to display my research and progress for my ISM Class. I made it a point to not show the product I have been working on too much as I don’t believe it is necessary nor a good idea, both from a perspective of being humble and being in fear of getting the business idea I am working on.
My perspective on the shifted slightly however as I had another mentor visit where I told my mentor about this and he told me that he doubts anyone will take the idea but he also told me that no idea is truly original so if the idea is that easy to steal, it isn’t “the next big thing” which shifted my perspective on it.
Furthermore, we started talking about prototyping, 3d printing, set goals, and essentially kept moving forward in terms of product development. However, towards the end of the meeting, Mr. Butorac said he was going to teach me a skill he had learned. He was going to teach me “how to kill an idea with math”. At the point, we had run out of time for the meeting but he told me we would talk about it in the coming weeks so I am excited for that.
