Over the past few weeks, apart from my BPA project mentioned in my last blog, I got my ISM mentor approved and also set up the first meeting. I am very proud of myself and hope to accomplish a lot from the mentor I have chosen as he has already helped me a lot for my BPA project and with our initial interview really inspired me to pursue a business idea I had.
The reason I chose him as my mentor is because he really did seem passionate about what he was doing and although his business did not directly line up with the field mine was in, he had a lot of valuable connections and insight which I believe will help me take my business idea from and idea and a few models to a well functioning business.
I am still torn on what to do for my final project as I really hope to have my business idea operational by then but it is a relatively short time frame considering the amount of time I have however, to an extent, creating a prototype for it and revising the business plan seems like its not enough. Because of this, before I make any final calls, I want to talk to my mentor and ask him about goal setting as I believe he will have the best ideas for me. Luckily, I have a mentor visit this coming week and have to give a presentation the class after so I will have a better idea prior to presenting it to my class!
