I feel like everywhere I go, the topic of AI is so prevalent. I can’t go onto the news without hearing about AI. I can't go onto social media without finding some song made by AI. I can’t go to school without being reminded that the use of AI is banned. Even in my ISM, one of my desk partners has chosen to study AI. It is interesting to think about, especially when considering that the first forms of artificial intelligence were made in the 1950s, and have only become relevant in our everyday lives within the past year with pioneers such as ChatGPT, paving the way for the future. It got me thinking about how this will change or has already changed business and entrepreneurship. With this in mind, I decided to make my assessment for my ISM class about this topic along with the influence of social media. Focusing on AI(and its effect on business) however, made me realize the near infinite potential of AI. I needed to keep in mind that AI is not just reserved to text and image generation, it also works with audio, video, and other forms of media along with analysis and editing. Within business, this has potential to make mock-ups of products, find flaws in products, market analysis, marketing, and more. It can save companies millions of dollars and would make development and progress so much faster, but personally I would not support this. Why you might ask, because it would lead to the unemployment of hundreds of thousands of people. I believe that hurting large groups of people for your own personal benefit is wrong and should not be done so rather than having AI replace people completely, it should be incorporated to lessen the workload of workers.
